Magnetic Weapons | XCOM-2 Wiki

Currently into my third play through of X Com 2. So far, no major issues. Even during my second run which was heavily modded I had no issues but now I've hit a huge problem. After researching magnetic weapons and then building them, I'm unable to equip them to my soldiers as they do not show up in my weapon inventory. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have any advice on how I might attempt to fix this? Would be a shame to start a new game as I'm playing in Iron Man mode. Even if i did start a new game, I wouldn't be able to tell if the issue was resolved until I reached this stage in the tech tree again.
