Engineering in XCOM 2 is one of the 4 sections of the Avenger, and where the player can invest time and resources to upgrade Weapons, Armor and aspects of the ship. Lily Shen is the head of this section. Engineering Projects become available after recovering Items from successful Missions.

Proving Ground




Engineering Projects in XCOM 2 can be done by Engineers in the Proving Ground within the Avenger. The Projects improve aspects of your ships, improve the quality of Weapons and Armor and generally make you more powerful. Below is a table of Engineering Projects, their costs and time to complete, along with their effects. Staffing Engineers in the Proving Ground will reduce the time to complete the projects. Please note that costs change depending on the difficulty setting of the game. Once an item has become available through completing an engineering project, it must be constructed in the Armory before equipping it on a soldier.
