Proving Ground is part of the Engineering section on board the Avenger and is one of the Facilities you are able to build. It is where you can research Engineering Projects to enhance your Soldiers, Weapons and Armor. Below is a table of Engineering Projects, their costs and time to complete, along with their effects.

Players who own the Shen's Last Gift DLC can construct units from the SPARK class in the Proving Ground.

 

Proving Ground Information

An experimental work space where Shen can test and produce new, unique types of ammo, grenades and armor for our soldiers, as well as other specialized tactical items.

  • Staffing Bonus: Staffing an Engineer or Gremlin here improves production speed by 50%.
  • You may queue up projects to begin immediately upon completion of the currently researched project. This is a helpful time saver and is useful for planning your priorities. Once queued you can reorder the projects however you would like to prioritize their completion.

Engineering Projects in XCOM 2 can be done by Engineers in the Proving Ground within the Avenger. The Projects improve aspects of your ships, improve the quality of Weapons and Armor and generally make you more powerful. Below is a table of Engineering Projects, their costs and time to complete, along with their effects. Staffing Engineers in the Proving Ground will reduce the time to complete the projects. Please note that costs change depending on the difficulty setting of the game. Once an item has become available through completing an engineering project, it must be constructed in the Armory before equipping it on a soldier.
